Citizen's Police Academy
Clarksville Police Department has a free Citizen’s Police Academy where our department is able to give back to its citizens by providing a better understanding of law enforcement and how our police officers work within the community! You get to meet your officers who work in different fields of law enforcement to include: Patrol, Criminal Investigations, Crash Investigations, K-9 operations, Crime Scene Investigation, T.A.C.T. Team, Crisis Response Unit and more! Academy participants also receive the chance to partake in activities such as: police vehicle operations, firearms instruction, responding to 911 calls and use of force decision-making exercises.
Over the course of twelve weeks, this academy will provide a fun and interactive way to educate and develop positive relations with our citizens. It is an ongoing process to build community cooperation, understanding, and good will!
The class is free of charge and you can download the application or fill it out online. If you decide to download and print it, please return it to address listed on the application.
We have strict attendance requirements; please apply only if you are willing and able to make a commitment to attend each class.
During the course of this academy photos will be taken. By submitting the application, you are allowing the Clarksville Police Department to use and publish photos that may have you in them, without restriction.
CLASS FOR 2019 IS FULL AND WE ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS. CHECK BACK FOR MORE INFORMATION.
Upon completion of the program, a graduation ceremony will be held with your other classmates with a certificate and dinner provided!
Once citizens graduate from the Citizens Police Academy, they may become a member of the Citizens Police Academy Alumni (CPAA). CPAA serves as ambassadors of the police department by donating their time to work on community projects with the police department: Teen Citizens’ Police Academy, Run for C.O.P.S., Cops and Bobbers, etc.
