Fort Defiance to host March to the Past

March to the Past

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Ever wondered what 19th-century life was like? Fort Defiance Civil War Park and Interpretive Center will host March to the Past from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 14 to give you a glimpse into that time.

The event, in collaboration with The Friends of Fort Defiance, will be a day of 19th-century living history demonstrations including Civil War camp life, musket and artillery firing, period cooking, and children’s activities.

William Parker, the Historical Interpreter at Fort Defiance, said these events wouldn’t be possible without the help of The Friends of Fort Defiance.

“We’re grateful that we have a group that’s so passionate about Clarksville’s rich Civil War history, and they do a great job helping us bring these events to life.”
