The 2023 Tennessee Valley Lineman Rodeo returned to Clarksville this year., running Friday and Saturday, June 2-3 at Liberty Park.
Open to the public, the Rodeo began in 1998 by, and for the employees of Tennessee Valley Authority power distributors. It includes competitive events for apprentices, journeyman teams of three, individual linemen and senior individuals ages 45 and up. The competition recognizes and rewards excellence in safety, skill and knowledge in their field.
Over 250 competing participants came to Clarksville, representing 40 local power companies from five states.
The weekend marks the third time CDE Lightband has hosted the Rodeo -- twice on its own and a third time as co-host along with Cumberland Electric Membership Corp., said CDE General Manager Brian Taylor.
